THE Antipolo government has received the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) from the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Mayor Jun Ynares said Antipolo has been the recipient of the seal for eight years.

“We just made sure to make available to our youths all the programs and services that promote their welfare and protect their rights,” Ynares said.

The SCFLG recognizes cities and municipalities that excel in implementing child-friendly programs and promoting children’s welfare, as evaluated through the annual Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit.

Ynares said they have been working hard to make the city child-friendly with youth-forward programs such as scholarships and pre-employment opportunities.

He added they also built youth facilities at the Antipolo sports hubs as a one-stop shop for students. Aside from Antipolo, the municipalities of Morong, Pililla, Angono, Cardona, Baras, Jala-jala, Teresa, Binangonan, Taytay, and Tanay have also received SCFLG.
