POLICE operatives arrested another suspect in the killing of House of Representatives director Mauricio Pulhin in an operation in Quezon City last Tuesday night.

The National Capital Region Police Office said the male suspect, along with a female companion, was nabbed after selling a loose firearm to a poseur buyer.

The buy-bust operation was conducted by operatives of the NCRPO’s District Intelligence Division and the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) at 9:45 p.m. at Batasan Road corner Diamond Street.

Last June 24, the PNP announced that murder charges had been filed against six suspects in the killing of Pulhin.

The six included a “middleman” and a “lookout” who were arrested in separate operations in Quezon City and Caloocan City a day earlier.

The suspect, who used a different name during the transaction, was linked to the “high-profile shooting incident involving the death of a top-ranking employee of the House of Representatives.”

It was referring to Pulhin, chief of the technical staff of the House Commission on Ways and Means, who was shot dead in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City, last June 15 during the birthday party of his daughter.

In a statement, the NCRPO said it has “verified the male suspect’s direct involvement in the fatal shooting, further emphasizing the severity of his criminal background.”

Seized from the possession of the male suspect were a 9 mm pistol with six bullets, an MK2 fragmentation grenade, and multiple fake identification cards, among others.

Seized from the female suspect were the buy-bust money, a white envelope, and several identification cards.

NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin said: “Through solid intelligence work and determined field action, we were able to apprehend the suspects who posed a serious threat to public safety.”

“The arrest will also put into motion the wheel of justice for the murder victim and his family,” said Aberin.
