AN American and Iranian were apprehended by intelligence operatives of the Bureau of Immigration in separate operations in Pampanga and Isabela.

Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said James Brian Dunlap, 68, was arrested last February 10 in Barangay Silawit, Cauayan City in Isabela for overstaying in the country for more than two years in violation of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.

Viado said Amirhossein Moghaddasi, 52, was arrested inside the Clark Civil Aviation Complex at the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga last February 6.

Viado said Moghaddasi was arrested after the BI was able to confirm information that he was working for a company other than the one mentioned in his working visa.

“Agents conducted monitoring of Moghaddasi, and later confirmed he indeed was working in Clark after his previous company already ceased operations,” the BI chief added.

Dunlap and Moghaddasi were brought to the BI detention facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City.

“The two face deportation charges and will remain in custody until the implementation of their removal from the country,” Viado said.
