THE administration’s “Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas” senatorial slate will campaign in vote-rich Cavite today.

Cavite is the bailiwick of three of Alyansa’s candidates – Sens. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. who hails from Bacoor, and Francis Tolentino of Tagaytay City, and former senator Panfilo Lacson of Imus.

Navotas City Rep. Toby Tiangco, the administration ticket’s campaign manager, stressed the importance of winning Cavite’s support, recognizing the province “as a key driver of electoral success.”

“Cavite has always been a decisive force in national elections, and Alyansa is coming in strong with a line-up that understands the pulse of the people,” he said.

With 2,447,362 registered voters, Tiangco said Cavite has long been a “decisive battleground in national elections, making it a critical stop for the administration coalition’s campaign.”

Tiangco cited the “deep roots and extensive public service” experience of the three Caviteño Alyansa bets, saying it is expected to boost the team’s support base.

The other members of the administration’s senatorial slate are reelectionist Senators Lito Lapid, Imee Marcos, Pia Cayetano; former senators Vicente Sotto III and Manny Pacquiao; Reps. Erwin Tulfo (PL, ACT-CIS) and Camille Villar of Las Piñas City; Makati City mayor Abigail Binay, and former Interior Secretary and Mandaluyong City mayor Benhur Abalos.

“We have leaders who have proven their ability to deliver results, and we are confident that Caviteños will rally behind us,” Tiangco said.

Alyansa will hold its rally at the new provincial capitol grounds in Trece Martires, which is expected to draw thousands of supporters from Cavite’s eight component cities and 15 municipalities.

In the 2022 presidential polls, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. received 1,121,108 votes in the province.

Tiangco said the Marcos’ landslide victory in Cavite, combined with the province’s high 81.30 percent voter turnout, “reinforced its status as a bellwether for national sentiment.”
