THE final 11 Filipino crew members of the MV Magic Seas returned home late on Saturday night to complete the repatriation efforts for the seafarers on board the ill-fated bulk carrier earlier attacked by Houthi rebels in the Red Sea.
In a statement, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) reported that all 17 Filipino seafarers of the Liberia-flagged MV Magic Seas have been safely repatriated at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA)-Terminal 3 in Pasay City.
The first six crew members of the vessel were repatriated last July 11
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac assured the repatriated seafarers that they would be provided with all the necessary assistance.
This, he said, includes financial assistance, reintegration services, medical check-up, mental health assessments, and psychosocial counseling.
“We reaffirm our commitment to ensuring the dignified return, full recovery, and seamless reintegration of every Filipino seafarer repatriated,” said Cacdac.
