IN less than a week, 79 curfew violators were apprehended in Marikina City.
Mayor Maan Teodoro said the violators were brought to youth discipline centers, where they were lectured and told to avoid violating curfew again. They were kept there until their parents or guardians arrived to pick them up.
“If necessary, our social workers will be the ones to take them (violators) home,” Teodoro said.
The mayor added that they will continue to enforce city ordinances banning loud karaoke music beyond 10 p.m., littering, and jaywalking.
She also appealed to the public to exercise discipline and follow even the most minor rules or laws.
