7 bakery employees stabbed to death in Antipolo

SEVEN stay-in employees of a bakery in Antipolo City were stabbed to death by an assailant for still unknown reasons yesterday.

Col. Felipe Maraggun, Rizal PPO director, said the fatalities, who have not been identified, died on the spot due to stab and hack wounds.

A statement from the Rizal Police Provincial Office said the suspect was arrested at 9 a.m., more than an hour after the bodies were discovered by police at around 7:40 a.m.

The suspect was not identified.

The police statement said: “Upon arrival, seven (7) lifeless male individuals were found inside the bakery. Initial findings indicate that all victims were employees of J&B Malunggay Bakery and were residing on the premises. The victims appear to have been attacked while asleep.

“The motive behind this heinous crime remains under investigation. Authorities are exploring all possible angles, including the potential involvement of additional suspects.”

Police appealed to the public to remain calm and allow law enforcement agencies to carry out a thorough and impartial investigation.
