THE Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has designated 686 churches as places of pilgrimage.

CBCP News said all archdioceses and dioceses in the Philippines have designated local churches and shrines as destinations for pilgrims.

“These sacred sites will offer the faithful an opportunity for deeper reflection, conversion, and the experience of God’s infinite mercy,” said CBCP president Bishop Pablo Virgilio David.

“These designated places will offer opportunities for reconciliation, indulgences, and other events intended to strengthen and revive faith,” said CBCP secretary general Msgr. Bernardo Pantin.

The pilgrim churches will also offer the faithful the chance to receive plenary indulgence under the usual conditions of doing sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father.

The list of Jubilee 2025 pilgrim churches in the Philippines can be seen at: https://cbcpnews.net/cbcpnews/list-jubilee-2025-pilgrim-churches-in-the-philippines/.

The year 2025 has been designated as a Jubilee year, which is considered as a Holy Year and is celebrated by the Catholic Church every 25 years.

The Jubilee year is a period of spiritual renewal, forgiveness, and celebration for the faithful.

Pope Francis has urged pilgrimages to Rome for 2025 as part of the celebration.

But since not all faithful can travel to Rome for a pilgrimage, bishops and archbishops worldwide were told to designate their cathedrals and shrines as special places of prayer for pilgrims.
