68.6M Pinoys set to vote in 2025 midterm polls

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday said 68,618,667 registered voters nationwide are expected to participate in the May 2025 national, local, and Bangsamoro parliamentary polls.

Comelec data shows that the Calabarzon is the country’s vote-rich region, with 9,764,170 voters registered in the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.

Central Luzon has the second highest number of registered voters at 7,712,535; followed closely by the National Capital Region, or Metro Manila, with 7,562,858 voters.

Completing the Top 5 regions are Central Visayas with 4,407,337 voters, and Bicol with 4,066,662 voters.

The Comelec said the regions with the lowest number of registered voters are the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) with 1,111,859 voters, and Caraga with 1,889,616 voters.

The voter registration period for the May 2025 polls started on February 12 and ended in September 30 this year.

In the May 2022 national and local elections, there were 65,745,526 registered voters.

The figure went up to 67,839,861 during the October 2023 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE).

Records show that Calabarzon also had the highest number of registered voters in the May 2022 midterm polls (9,193,096) and in the October 2023 BSKE (9,544,402).
