OPERATIVES of the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested six individuals selling unregistered vape products in recent operations in Quezon City.
The CIDG said P3.94 million worth of vape products were seized during the operations conducted Wednesday last week in Barangay Bagbag and Barangay Roxas District.
In a statement yesterday, the CIDG named the arrested suspects by their aliases as Seb, Mon, Genevieve, Rorem, Kenneth, and Pahrysz.
“They were nabbed while selling and distributing vape products without the necessary permits from the Department of Trade and Industry, making it illegal,” the CIDG said.
Seized during the operation were 8,567 pieces of X-Black Elite 12000 Puffs, 300 pieces of X-Black Elite 8000 puffs, 924 prefilled pod cartridges of various flavors; two mother boxes of X-Black Elite 12000, one mother box of Kado bar vape, and three mother boxes of Royal Elite Batteries.
The CIDG has filed charges against the suspects before the National Prosecution Service “for illegal sale and distribution of unregistered vape products, illegal online distribution, and failure to display required health warnings.”
CIDG director Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III urged the public to report to authorities if they are aware of the illegal trade of vape products in their area.
“We urge the public to report all illegal trade of vape products and other illegal activities in your localities and your CIDG will do the rest,” said Torre.
