SIX more regions are expected to issue their wage orders, according to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).
In a statement, the NWPC said it is still waiting for the actions of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Mimaropa (IV-B), Northern Mindanao (X), Caraga (XIII), Davao Region (XI), and Bicol Region (V).
“RTWPBs CAR and IV-B are in the final stages of their minimum wage determination process,” said the NWPC.
“RTWPBs X and XIII began their minimum wage determination process this November 2024,” it added.
The agency said the RTWPB-XI is set to commence its wage review by January 2025.
Earlier, the RTWPB-V decided to defer the wage determination process in the Bicol Region due to the destructive impact of recent typhoons.
In the meantime, the RTWPB-V said it would continue to closely monitor and assess the ongoing recovery and conditions in the Bicol Region for the next three months.
So far, wage orders have been issued in the National Capital Region, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Soccsksargen.
