“The repatriation of the OFWs is part of the ongoing efforts of the government to assist OFWs affected by the ongoing conflict between Lebanon and Israel,” it added.

Since the start of the conflict in late 2023, there are now a total of 2,873 OFWs and 107 dependents who have been repatriated from Lebanon.

The department said all the OFW repatriates were provided with immediate financial, medical, livelihood, and airport assistance.

The DMW said the OFWs will also be provided with assistance for their productive and sustainable reintegration back to their communities.

Over the weekend, Israeli artillery and airstrikes hit south Lebanon, supposedly in response to the interception of rockets fired allegedly by Hezbollah.
