CIVIL Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Director General Lt. Col. (ret.) Raul Del Rosario welcomed 50 new graduates of the 18th Comprehensive Air Traffic Service (CATS) Course during their commencement exercises held last May 16 at the Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC).
The graduating class, known as Batch “Masidlipaw,” completed one of the most rigorous and vital training programs under CAAP.
Del Rosario extended his congratulations to the graduates, recognizing their perseverance and dedication.
From an original pool of 76 trainees from across the country, 50 candidates completed the program and are now ready to take on the critical responsibilities of managing the country’s airspace.
“As you step into the real-world challenges of air traffic service, may you always remember that safety is your mission and service is your duty,” he added.
The CATS program delivers comprehensive, internationally aligned training designed to equip aspiring air traffic controllers with the technical expertise and operational discipline required to ensure safe and efficient air traffic management.
The course also supports the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) New Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) initiative, which aims to address the global shortage of skilled aviation personnel and promote the sustainable growth of the aviation sector.
Also in attendance during the ceremony were Air Traffic Service (ATS) Assistant Director General II Ms. Marlene Singson, Human Resource Management Department (HRMD) Chief Ms. Amneris Gabriel, CATC Chief Ms. Gina Marie Lazo, and CATC Academic Department Chief Mr. Orlando Constantine Tuliao.
