FIVE people were killed in a one-hour fire in a residential area in Pasig City last Wednesday night.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said a mother, her baby, her 11-year-old daughter, their neighbor, and a 15-year-old boy were trapped in the fire. Their bodies were retrieved early yesterday.
Reports show the fire started at 10:56 p.m. in a four-story residential building on E. Mendoza Street, Barangay Buting. It reached the first alarm before it was put out.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said that the building was made of light materials and had old flooring, which might have caused the fire to spread quickly. Aside from the fatalities, 11 families were affected by the fire.
