A magnitude 5.1 earthquake rocked Sultan Kudarat Monday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
In a bulletin, Phivolcs said it is not expecting any damage from the quake which occurred at around 8:19 a.m.
The quake’s epicenter was located some 18 km northwest of Kalamansig town in Sultan Kudarat.
It was tectonic origin and had a depth of 546 km.
Phivolcs said it is expecting aftershocks from the earthquake.
There were no reported intensities mentioned in the earthquake bulletin of Phivolcs.
Two minutes later, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake also occurred in the town, said Phivolcs.
Its epicenter was some 34 km northwest of Kalamansig, with a depth of 568 km.
Phivolcs said it was not expecting aftershocks and damage from the quake.
