AT least 3,000 employment opportunities will be up when the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) holds another special job fair for workers affected by the ban on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs).
In a statement, the DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR) said it has so far tallied 3,000 job vacancies to be offered during the job fair on November 19 and 20 at the SM Mall of Asia-Music Hall in Pasay City.
“Initially, a total of 16 local employers will participate, providing a diverse range of jobs, like sales consultants, cashiers, receptionists, encoders, drivers, delivery helpers, service crews, and more,” said DOLE-NCR.
It said all applicants are advised to pre-register via the link https://tinyurl.com/projectdapat.
The Department also said all applicants must bring copies of their resumes and other required pre-employment documents to the event.
Aside from the job fair, DOLE-NCR said they will also put up a one-stop-shop service in the venue to assist jobseekers with their pre-employment documents.
Participating government agencies include the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Social Security System (SSS), Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and Philippine Postal Corporation (PHILPOST).
The special POGO job fairs are being held to find employment opportunities for Filipinos who stand to lose employment due to the ban on POGOs.
DOLE data showed that affected POGO workers at risk of becoming jobless is pegged at 79,735 Filipinos and foreigners.
Last October, the DOLE held simultaneous special POGO job fairs in Parañaque City and Makati City, where a total of 108 participating employers offered 13,744 employment opportunities.
