THREE thousand employment opportunities will be available when the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) holds another special job fair for displaced Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO), also known as Internet Gaming Licensees (IGLs), workers.
In a social media post, DOLE – National Capital Region (NCR) announced that 3,000 job vacancies are set to be offered by 24 participating employers on February 28 at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay in Parañaque City.
Last November, Malacanang issued an order banning the operation of all POGOs and Internet Gaming Licensees, citing national security and public order after many of them had been linked to organized crimes. Their closure left thousands of workers jobless.
“Looking for new job opportunities? Don’t miss the Project Dapat: A Special DOLE Action Plan & Transition Job Fair for displaced IGL workers,” said the DOLE-NCR.
“Thousands of job opportunities are waiting for you… this event is your chance to get back on track,” it added.
DOLE-NCR said among the jobs to be offered are in manufacturing, food service, business process outsourcing, hospitality, and information technology.
It said interested job seekers are encouraged to pre-register via https://tinyurl.com/ProjectDAPAT2025 for a faster application process.
DOLE-NCR also reminded jobseekers to bring their resumes and other pre-employment requirements for a smoother application process.
There will also be one-stop-shop services available to assist job seekers in securing pre-employment requirements.
During the last special job fair, 310 displaced POGO workers participated with only four being hired on the spot.
