ANTI-DRUG operatives of the Southern Police District arrested three suspected dealers, including a teenager, and confiscated 163 grams of illegal drugs worth nearly P1.11 million in a buy-bust operation last Monday.
The SPD said the operation in Barangay Central Bicutan led to the arrest of alias “John Paul, 32; alias Jepoy, 30; and “Shawn,” a 17-year-old student.
Aside from the illegal drugs, the arresting officers from the SPD, Taguig Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, also recovered a loaded .45 caliber pistol from “Jepoy.”
The SPD said “John Paul” and “Jepoy” were considered “high-value individuals” due to their alleged involvement in the narcotics trade in Taguig.
A complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, awaits the two, while “Jepoy” will face additional complaints for violation of RA 10591, or the Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
“Shawn” was turned over to the local social welfare office for safekeeping.
Police seized ₱1.36 million worth of suspected dangerous drugs and arrested a taxi driver in a buy-bust operation in San Mateo, Rizal last Monday afternoon.
Col. Felipe Maraggun, Rizal provincial police office (PPO) director, identified the suspect as alias Ramos, 34, a resident of Barangay Buntong Palay, San Mateo, Rizal.
Seized from him were several sachets containing more or less than 200 grams of suspected shabu. – With Christian Oineza
