3 Caloocan cops nabbed for extortion

OPERATIVES of the PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) have arrested three Caloocan City policemen, including a major, for robbery extortion.

A report from the IMEG said the three were arrested during an entrapment operation at around 4:15 p.m. last Saturday in coordination with the city’s police chief, Col. Paul Jadey Doles.

The two other policemen who were apprehended have a rank of master sergeant and patrolman.

IMEG said the operation was conducted based on the complaint of relatives of detainees that Caloocan City policemen were demanding fees before they can visit their relatives who are incarcerated at the police station.

Seized from the suspects were P4,400 cash in different denominations that was used in the entrapment operation.

The suspects are facing charges of robbery/extortion and grave coercion.

They are currently detained at the IMEG facility at Camp Crame.
