THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) is looking at resuming overseas voter registration on November 2025, Elections chairman George Garcia said yesterday.
Garcia yesterday said the voter registration for Filipinos living and working abroad will run for two years.
“We will start on November 2025 and will run for more or less until (November) 2027 for the registration of overseas voters in relation to the 2028 presidential elections,” Garcia said in an interview.
Under the law, eligible to register as overseas voters are all citizens of the Philippines who are abroad, who are not otherwise disqualified by law, and are at least 18 years of age on Election Day.
There were 1,241,690 registered overseas voters during the May 2025 midterm elections.
Prior to the 2025 polls, the last overseas voter registration ran from December 2022 to September 2024.
