THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)- National Capital Region (NCR) yesterday announced the adoption of a 15-working-day process cycle time for all Alien Employment Permits (AEPs).
In an Advisory, DOLE-NCR Director Sarah Mirasol said they will strictly adhere to Department Order No. 248-2025, which extended the process cycle time from the previous five working days.
“The new process cycle time of 15 working days for the issuance of Alien Employment Permits (AEP) shall be reckoned from the date of receipt of payment,” said Mirasol.
She said the new process cycle time shall cover the thorough evaluation of the application and review of submitted documents, including educational credentials, work experience and qualifications of the foreign applicant; the endorsement of the AEP application to the regional director for approval; and submission of a compliance document (if applicable).
It also covers the scheduling and conduct of verification inspection (as necessary); printing and preparation of the AEP card; and scheduling and release of the approved AEP.
“This is to ensure a more comprehensive and efficient evaluation process while maintaining quality public service,” said Mirasol.
The DOLE-NCR advised clients to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all submitted documents to prevent unnecessary delays.
“Incomplete or inconsistent submissions may be returned or placed on hold until compliance is met, in which case the processing time may be adjusted,” said Mirasol.
An AEP is a document issued to a non-resident alien or foreign national seeking admission to the Philippines for employment purposes.
Records show that DOLE issued a total of 60,312 AEPs in 2024.
