National Achievement Test for Grade 10 students set June 27

THE Department of Education will hold the National Achievement Test for Grade 10 students (NATG10) on June 27.

In a memorandum order dated June 6, the department said the achievement test will be administered to “sampled Grade 10 learners” in all regional and division offices and all public and private schools.

“The NATG10 is one of the exit assessments under the national assessment framework of the K to 12 Basic Education Program. It is designed to determine if Grade 10 learners are meeting the learning standards of the Junior High School curriculum,” the memorandum issued by DepEd Undersecretary for Curriculum and Teaching Gina Gonong said.

The test, according to the DepEd will cover such areas as problem-solving, information literacy and critical thinking using learning areas in English, Mathematics, Science, Filipino and Araling Panlipunan as content.

“The test design is progressive in nature wherein test items measure varying levels of skills in a multiple-choice format using English and Filipino language,” the memorandum said.

The conduct of the achievement test will be led by the DepEd’s Bureau of Education Assessment, with the assistance of regional and division offices.
