Mutya ng Pilipinas is back after 3-year hiatus

AFTER almost three years in hiatus because of the pandemic, Mutya ng Pilipinas, one of the country’s longest-running and well-loved national beauty tilts, is back with the press presentation of the 40 official candidates for its 52nd edition held at Citadines Bay City Manila in Pasay City, where they were presented to members of media in royal blue swimsuits by Sony Boy Mindo.

Reigning Mutya ng Pilipinas – Asia Pacific International Klyza Castro, who was crowned in 2019, also graced the event where media voted 3 “Darlings of the Press” namely: Iona Gibbs of Bataan, Katherine Topsnik of Guindulman, Bohol; and Bea Margarett Madea of Muntinlupa.

“In keeping with the spirit of these challenging times, Mutya ng Pilipinas chooses to be relevant by embracing sustainability and inclusivity,” shared Cory Quirino, Mutya ng Pilipinas president. “As such, significant partnerships have been forged with notable LGUs such as Dapitan in Zamboanga del Norte for ecotourism, Dasmariñas, Cavite for progressive development, and Silang, Cavite for green advocacy and sustainability.”

Top titles at stake are: Mutya ng Pilipinas 2022, Mutya ng Pilipinas – Tourism International, Mutya ng Pilipinas – World Top Model and Mutya ng Pilipinas – Overseas Communities. Instead of runners-up, 3 ladies will also be bestowed titles of equal ranking namely: Mutya ng Pilipinas – Luzon, Mutya ng Pilipinas – Visayas and Mutya ng Pilipinas – Mindanao, to encourage hometown girls from all over the country to join the pageant in its thrust for a purposeful tomorrow.

The grand coronation night will be held on December 4, 6 p.m. at the FilOil EcoOil Center in San Juan.
