Motorists, beware: Reblocking, road repairs up

THE Department of Public Works and Highways will undertake reblocking and repairs on several roads in the metropolis starting tonight (Friday) up to the early morning of August 27 (Tuesday), the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said.

The road reblocking and repairs, which will start at 11 p.m., will take place at Tandang Sora after Culiat High School to Allan Bean (1st lane from sidewalk), Quezon City; EDSA southbound after West Avenue to after MRT North Avenue Station (1st lane from center), Quezon City; EDSA northbound, SM North EDSA Annex to Iglesia ni Cristo (3rd lane from center), Quezon City;

EDSA northbound, Quezon Avenue to Philam Footbridge (3rd lane from sidewalk); EDSA southbound Bansalangin St. to West Avenue (3rd lane from center), Quezon City; Mindanao Avenue fronting Caltex Gas Station (1st lane from center), Quezon City, Commonwealth Avenue southbound, St. Peter Church (footbridge) to Shopwise (4th lane from center), Quezon City;

and EDSA southbound SB Lanutan to Bansalangin (1st lane from center), Quezon City and Gen. San Miguel eastbound between Bisig ng Kabataan to A. Mabini St. (1st lane from sidewalk) and between EDSA Monumento southbound and Benin St. (1st — 4th lane from sidewalk), both Caloocan City.

The MMDA said similar works will be undertaken at EDSA southbound (2nd bus lane) after the Ayala Tunnel in Makati City and Roxas Boulevard southbound EDSA flyover (3rd lane) in Parañaque City.

“The affected roads will be fully passable by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes,” the MMDA said in an advisory.

August 23 has been declared a special non-working holiday for the Ninoy Aquino Day commemoration while August 26 is a regular holiday for the celebration of National Heroes Day.
