MANILA Mayor and Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso yesterday said there is no bad blood between him and Maguindanao 2nd District Rep. Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu even if the latter decided to endorse Leni Robredo as presidential candidate in the May 9 elections.
Moreno said he understood and respected the decision of Mangudadatu.
Mangudadatu and his family hosted Moreno and his slate when they visited Maguindanao in February as part of their Mindanao campaign sorties.
Back then, Mangudadatu, who is seeking to reclaim his old post as Maguindanao governor, endorsed Moreno for president and Sara Duterte for vice president.
However, last April 23, during the celebration of Robredo’s 57th birthday, Mangudadatu endorsement and Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Chief Minister Al Hajj “Murad” Ebrahim and his United Bangsamoro Justice Party opted to endorse Leni.
“It’s between us, and I fully respect and understand him. That’s how you look at your people. You understand your people,” Moreno told reporters in an ambush interview in Carles, Panay island, the first stop in his team’s four-day sortie in the island province, the largest province in the Western Visayas region.
“People change their mind. Like what we are doing right now at baka magbago ang isip ng iba,” Moreno said, referring to the “silent majority” that his camp is wooing.
