MMFF 2020 is a go

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is bigger as it goes online this year.

In a press con Tuesday, MMDA Chairman Danny Lim announced that the 46th edition of the annual film fest will be pushing through.

“Hindi pwedeng mawala ito sa pandemya,” he said.

There will be ten entries this year, two films more than the usual number, and will be accessible worldwide through streaming platform Upstream.

The official entries are: fantasy “Magikland,” the horror “The Missing,” family drama “Coming Home,” romantic drama “Tagpuan,” drama “Isa Pang Bahaghari,” bioflick “Suarez the Healing Priest,” horror-comedy “Mang Kepweng,” comedy “Pakboys Takusa,” coming-of-age “The Boy Foretold by the Stars,” and the psychological drama “Fan Girl.”

“Magikland” is directed by Christian Acuna and has in the cast Miggs Cuaderno, Princess Aguilar, and Elijah Alejo.

“Coming Home” is by director Adolfo Alix, Jr. and features Jinggoy Estrada and Sylvia Sanchez.

“The Missing” is by Easy Ferrer. Shot in Japan, it has Ritz Azul, Miles Ocampo and Joseph Marco.

“Tagpuan” features Iza Calzado and Alfred Vargas. It is directed by Mac Alejandre.

“Isa Pang Bahaghari” is by director Joel Lamangan and has Nora Aunor in the lead.

“Fan Girl” is by Antoinette Jadaone and stars Paulo Avelino and Charlie Dizon.

“The Boy Foretold by the Stars” is by Dolly Dulu and has Adrian Lindayag and Keann Johnson.

“Pakboys Takusa” is by director Al Tantay and has Janno Gibbs and Jerald Napoles in the cast.

“Mang Kepweng” is by director Topel Lee and is led by Vhong Navarro.

“Suarez: The Healing Priest” is by filmmaker Joven Tan and stars John Arcilla.

The MMFF is a yearly filmfest under the Metro Manila Development Authority. December 25
