The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority yesterday said the “Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program” or number coding scheme is still suspended “until further notice.”
MMDA Assistant Secretary Celine Pialago said number coding will remain suspended while the National Capital Region is under general community quarantine.
However, she said there are several local government units in Metro Manila that are implementing their local number coding scheme.
Pialago also said the MMDA has yet to receive the implementing rules and regulations for the new motorcycle plate number.
“Once we have the IRR, MMDA will not hesitate to apprehend riders who will violate it,” she said. — Noel Talacay
