MORE than 45,000 employment opportunities will be offered to job seekers in Metro Manila when the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) holds simultaneous job fairs in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Labor Day.

In a statement, DOLE-NCR Director Atty. Sarah Buena Mirasol said there will be at least 713 local employers scheduled to participate in the job fairs to be held in 15 different sites across the region.

“The Labor Day Job Fair will be open for everyone to bring jobs to Filipinos,” said Mirasol.

“The Department expects that, by carrying out this activity, the unemployment rate in the region will be reduced, as well as strengthen the labor sector,” she added.

On May 1, the job fair will be held at the SM Grand Central Caloocan, SM Valenzuela, San Andres Sports Complex, SM MOA Music Hall, Pateros Municipal Hall Quadrangle, Robinsons Metro East, Parañaque City Social Hall & Sports Complex, and SM South Mall.

Job fairs will also be held at the Robinsons Las Piñas, Vista Mall Taguig, Quezon City Hall Covered Walkway, SM Novaliches, SM Fairview, SM North EDSA, and SM Centerpoint-Santa Mesa.

Additionally, Mirasol said there will be a separate job fair on May 3 (Friday) at the Ayala Mall South Park.

Aside from the job fair, DOLE-NCR said some government agencies will also provide one-stop-shop services, including the Social Security System, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Pag-IBIG Fund, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and Manila Police Department.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will also set up an advisory and information desk at all the job fair sites.

DOLE-NCR said interested individuals are encouraged to pre-register for faster processing on the day of the activity.

It said pre-registration links can be viewed at the DOLE-NCR official Facebook page (https://facebook.com/ncrdole).

Mirasol said interested applicants are reminded to prepare their pre-employment documents such as resumes.
