TWENTY-two official candidates competing for the Miss Queen of Hearts Philippines pageant were virtually presented to the pageant media recently. Coming from different parts of the country, these advocacy-driven ladies were selected from a series of online screenings mounted by the Queen of Hearts Foundation Inc. — organizer of the pageant.
Now on its third edition, the nationwide search will be held virtually because of the ongoing pandemic. All pre-pageant activities, including Self Introduction & Tourism Video, Talent Round, National Costume, Swimwear and Evening Gown competitions, will be held virtually.
Ten international and national titles are at stake in the pageant.
The international titles are Miss Philippines Global Universe 2022, Miss Philippines Tourism Worldwide 2022, Miss Philippines Lumiere International World 2022, Miss World Peace 2022 and Miss World Peace 2022.
The national titles are Miss Queen of Hearts Universe, Miss Queen of Hearts World, Miss Queen of Hearts International, Miss Queen of Hearts Earth and Miss Queen of Hearts Global Tourism.
“The Covid-19 pandemic made us adapt in the way we conduct our national pageant,” said Mitzie Go-Gil, the President of Queen of Hearts Foundation Inc. “We pushed through with our national search since we were asked by our international pageant partners to select our representatives for the 2021 and 2022 editions.”
“My heart is bursting with happiness as we present to you our candidates who came from diverse backgrounds,” said Ferdinand Abejon, the over-all coordinator for the pageant. “We are prioritizing the safety of all of our candidates that is why we have asked them to provide us all their competition requirements in the comforts of their home.”
Both Miss Queen of Hearts Philippines and its counterpart pageant Mrs. Queen of Hearts Philippines, are organized by Queen of Hearts Foundation Inc. The foundation’s mission is to help underprivileged communities in the country. Since its creation in December 2018, it has mounted numerous humanitarian and charity outreach programs.
The face-to-face coronation night is scheduled in June 2021. With Kenley Filarca as technical director, the pageant will be directed by Andrew Duma-up.
