Mimaropa wage board okays pay hike

MINIMUM wage earners and domestic workers in Mimaropa are set to receive higher pay after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) – Region IV-B approved wage orders set to take effect on December 7.

In a statement, the Mimaropa wage board disclosed that it has issued motu proprio wage orders both for minimum wage earners across all sectors as well as domestic workers in the region.

“A total of 46,861 minimum wage earners across all sectors in Mimaropa are expected to directly benefit,” said the Mimaropa wage board.

“The wage increases for kasambahays are expected to benefit a total of 28,269 domestic workers,” it added.

Under Wage Order No. RB-MIMAROPA-11, minimum wage earners in Mimaropa are set to get an additional P40 daily minimum wage increase.

This brings the daily minimum wage rates to P395 for establishments with 10 or more workers and P369.00 for establishments with less than 10 workers in all sectors.

Wage Order No. RB-MIMAROPA-DW-04 increases the monthly minimum wage of domestic workers by P1,000.

This means the monthly wage rate for domestic workers in the region will be P5,500.

According to the National Wages and Productivity Commission, the last wage orders for workers in private establishments and domestic workers in Mimaropa took effect back in June 2022.
