TO celebrate World Milk Day, Milo Phils., in cooperation with the Department of Education and the Philippine Jump Rope Association, yesterday launched the 10-Million Skips Challenge that promotes rope jumping as an alternative sport for children amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This in line with our long-term grassroots sports development program where we collaborate with the Education department and the PJRA to champion physical activity as a viable outlet for children to learn better in school,” Milo sports chief Lester Pimentel said in the Philippine Sportswriters Association online forum.

“Nestle Phils. is really committed to health and wellness and the launching of this program is indeed timely as we celebrate World Milk Day today since the main ingredient of Milo is milk,” said Nestle Phils. senior vice president Veronica Cruz. “We are excited to be part of this project.”

Through the DepEd’s nationwide network, Pimentel said “we intend to distribute 180,000 jump ropes to Grade 4 students and teachers to jump start this project. We believe that we can make 10 million skips within this month.

“Anyone can join and we will collate their performances in social media as long as they use the hash tag #Milo10MSkips and #WorldMilk Day.”
