GOVERNMENT forces overran a training and bomb-making camp of the New People’s Army in Aroroy, Masbate after a firefight with a large group of rebels, the military reported yesterday.

Maj. John Paul Belleza, spokesman of the Army’s 9th Infantry Division, said the troops assaulted the camp on Monday afternoon based on information provided by concerned citizens.

Belleza said 60 rebels, from the NPA’s Larangan 1 under one Arnold Rosero alias Star, retreated after incurring an undetermined number of casualties.

Military commanders told the retreating rebels to surrender.
