Bringing together the people who matter and who have been with her every step of the way has been one of Maymay Entrata’s long-term goals during the pandemic. The singer-actress, who’s known for holding sold-out concerts and packed mall shows and screenings, admitted that nothing beats face-to-face encounters.
But the virtual meet-and-greet last February 27, which was organized by her Megan Beauty family, was more than enough for Maymay to feel recharged and excited to carry on with her next endeavor in her professional life.
Present in the event are several fan groups and select members of the press who all had a colorful Sunday as they participated in the fun Bring Me and Whisper Challenge games.
The “Amakabogera” singer joked with the fans and answered queries at the question-and-answer segment.
Maymay, who is currently in Canada to pursue her studies, recalled that her February has been really special.
“Matagal na matagal ko ng talagang plinano na mag-study abroad at alam na yan ng nanay ko kahit hindi pa ako artista. Ayun nangyari na siya kaya masaya ako. Ang buong February ko, masayang masaya. Ang puso ko masaya kasi kasama ko ang espesyal sa puso ko.
Tapos isa na din, itong February na ito, marami sa pamilya ko ang nag-birthday kaya punong-puno ng selebrasyon. Halos araw-araw rin kaming nagco-communicate, kaya masaya. Ang isa rin na kumumpleto sa saya ko this February dahil nadagdagan kami ng isang miyembro sa pamilya namin. Kakapanganak lang ng pinsan nung isang araw kaya masayang-masaya ang Pebrero ko,” Maymay shared.
Apart from her supporters, Maymay considers the trust of her endorsements, such as local personal care and beauty brand Megab Beauty, as her confidence booster amidst being part of a very volatile and demanding industry.
“Hindi naging madali para talagang maging fully confident ako sa sarili ko. Kaya ang laki ng tulong sakin ng Megan family kasi lalo na nung first two years, isa sila sa napakalaking rason kung bakit naniniwala ako sa tunay kong ganda. Isa sila sa mga unang naniwala sa gandang meron ako,” Maymay said.
“So parang ako rin, na-push ko rin yung sarili ko na, ‘Okay, dahil may naniniwala sa ganda ko, maniniwala rin ako,’” she explained.
But Maymay stressed that being confident is not an overnight process.
“Siyempre hindi naman sa isang salita lang magiging confident kana sa ganda mo. Base sa experence ko talaga kapag dapat hindi mo din-define yung ganda base sa sinasabi ng ibang tao na stadard ng beauy. Dapat dine-define mo ang ganda sa kung paano mo siya dine-define. Kasi kapag nagre-rely ka sa ganon hindi ka talaga masa-satisfy talaga. Be yourself lang talaga at acceptance sa sarili mong ganda,” she said.
Maymay was named as the first celebrity endorser of Megan Beauty in 2018.
“I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone who has been supporting our products. Choosing Maymay as the endorser of some of the Megan Beauty products felt very natural for us. Simply because she has always been open and proud of who she is as a Filipina.

Grateful for all the love and support that she’s been receiving, Maymay encouraged her supporters to, like her, always choose to be happy.
“Sa mga tagasuporta ko na nandito ngayon sa meet-and-greet, sana nag-enjoy kayo kahit hindi man tayo in-person. Sana mangibabaw kung ano man ang nakakapagpasaya ng puso natin. Huwag na huwag po tayong matakot na mag-risk sa kung ano ang magpapasaya sa atin kasi sinasabi ko sa inyo magiging worth it talaga ‘yun,” she ended.
