These may be uncertain times, but Max Collins has found that the best way to beat stress and stay emotionally healthy is to treat yourself right. “What I’ve found to be helpful when it comes to stress is to indulge in me-time at mornings. I like waking up at 5 a.m. while my son is still asleep. I do yoga or jog, making sure I take deep breaths, take a cold shower and find a nice outfit to wear whether or not I’m just staying home. I find that starting the day right puts me in a good headspace.”
To decompress from her busy schedule, she works out with fitness coach Inigo Hizon or takes yoga and Pilates with instructor Citadel Bernardo. “Yoga really helps keep me centered. Working out in general has helped my mental and emotional health, it gives me the endorphins and energy I need to get through the day and get things done.” To pamper herself, she takes her time with a good cup of coffee or books a massage.
Another important part of her self-care regimen is to take her skincare seriously. “I try my best to take care of my physical appearance because it’s an important part of my job. As an actress, I need to look good in front of the cameras. Especially now that I’m aging, I’m so thankful that there’s skincare treatments that help me still look youthful.” She says she has found her perfect partner in Le Meur Aesthetics. “I’ve had non-invasive treatments done and I’m so happy with the results. A few that I have done regularly on my face are Botox, my favorite Youth 360 treatment and Exilis. The Meso Lipo treatment has helped my arms appear smaller. I’ve also been addicted to their newest treatment, the Em Sculpt Neo that is designed to combine simultaneous fat elimination and muscle building for a summer-ready body.” Le Meur Aesthetics, one of the most trusted brands in the country when it comes to the latest in French technology, has brought global beauty innovations to help Filipinas achieve healthier and more beautiful skin and body. The brand is immersed into giving their clients an incomparable experience that comes along with the best-quality service so that their endorsers be a defining figure in the beauty industry through empowering people of all ages.
After wrapping up “To Have and To Hold” with Carla Abellana and Rocco Nacino, she says she is excited to work on new projects. “What I love about my profession is that my next job is always a surprise — a different character, a different story, set, cast and crew. It never gets boring.”
Her dream project is to work in Los Angeles one day, and to have a chance to work with director Connie Macatuno, who helmed “Rome & Juliet.”
To ensure that she is ready for anything that comes her way, she stays in a healthy state of mind. “Waking up early and having healthy habits help me manage my time more efficiently. I try to get things done as quickly as possible and I love checking things off my checklist. I prioritize taking care of my wellbeing because it reflects in everything that I do.
When I’m in a good mood, I feel more grateful and I’m an overall better person.
