‘Marilyn’ out of PH

“MARILYN” weakened into a low pressure area from a tropical depression on Saturday night as it exited the Philippine area of responsibility, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said yesterday.

Weather specialist Gener Quitlong said the LPA continued to move farther away from the country. As of yesterday morning, it was 1,665 km northeast of Basco, Batanes. It was 1,390 km east northeast of Basco at 10 p.m. Saturday, or two hours after it exited.

Quitlong said a shallow low pressure area monitored at the West Philippine on Saturday night has also exited.

Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas regions as well as Zambales and Bataan provinces will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
