PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. yesterday paid tribute to mothers, including single moms, and fathers and other members of the family who are acting as mothers.
“I want to convey that your tireless love and sacrifice are what light up our lives, and strengthen our society. Today, we celebrate each of you),” the President said in Filipino on his official social media accounts.
Marcos also paid tribute to First Lady Liza Marcos who “not only fills our home with love but stands ready to defend her family at any turn.”
“To this dear lady… We are incredibly lucky to have you by our side. Your strength and compassion not only safeguard our family but also uplift our entire nation,” he added.
The President and the First Lady, who tied the knot in April 1993 in Italy, have three sons — House senior deputy majority leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro,” Joseph Simon, and William Vincent Marcos.
Vice President Sara Duterte also paid tribute to mothers, expressing her “heartfelt gratitude for the selfless sacrifices they make every day to nurture and care for their families.”
“Their love and guidance pave the way for brighter futures and stronger communities,” she said in a statement posted on Facebook.
“To all the mothers who strive to improve the lives of their families – whether inside or outside the country, be it in their own homes or in their respective professions – we could not measure your very important role in building a strong nation that will lead us to a more prosperous future,” she said in Filipino.
Speaker Martin Romualdez said, “To every Filipino mother who gracefully manages the demands of life while ensuring our homes are filled with warmth, your efforts are the backbone of our families. Your presence is a constant source of comfort and an endless source of inspiration.”
