PRESIDENTIAL candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. yesterday vowed to bring progress to Lanao del Norte area as well as address the needs of its people such as better educational system and more infrastructure.
Marcos, leading the UniTeam rally at the Mindanao Civic Center gymnasium in Tubod town, recognized the province’s need for better access to quality education and to support teachers and school officials in the province.
He again talked of the need to sustain the Duterte administration’s “Build, Build, Build” infrastructure program, to create more jobs and improve the digital infrastructure.
“These are just a few of the needs that should be addressed. We saw in this pandemic that all Filipinos – rich, poor, popular — all Filipinos need help,” he said in Filipino.
Marcos’ running mate, Sara Duterte-Carpio, in a video message talked of the UniTeam’s platforms such as reopening of more jobs that were closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, improving the quality of education, and sustaining the campaign against crimes.
Marcos said while surveys show he no longer needs to visit Lanao del Norte, he asked why not when “nandoon lahat ng kaibigan ko (all my friends are there).”
Lanao del Norte Gov. Imelda “Angging” Quibranza Dimaporo assured Marcos and Duterte-Carpio of her province’s “101 percent support.”
“I’m so happy in Lanao del Norte because even our political opponents are supporting you and Mayor Sara,” Dimaporo said in a statement.
