ELECTORAL survey front-runner Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is keeping his fingers crossed as he continues to hope that President Duterte will endorse him before the May 9 elections.

Marcos, in an interview with CNN Philippines last Tuesday, said he would understand if there would be no endorsement as he understands the President’s decision to remain “neutral.”

“We’re crossing our fingers that he will endorse but if not, I certainly understand. I think he has done everything for us, except actually endorsing us,” said Marcos whose running mate, presidential daughter Sara Duterte-Carpio has received the President’s endorsement.

Marcos, on Duterte’s description of him as a “weak leader and a spoiled child,” said it was just “politics.”

Marcos and Duterte-Carpio’s UniTeam will campaign in Pampanga again today.

Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday said it is unlikely to resolve a motion of reconsideration (MR) filed by the group of Ilocanos looking to block Marcos’ presidential, in time for the May 9 elections.

“There might not be enough time to consolidate the fourth case since it was just filed recently in the Commission en banc,” Comelec Chairman Saidamen Pangarungan said.

“What we can resolve are the other cases (against Marcos) pending,” he furthered.

Members of Pudno Nga Ilokano filed their MR to the Comelec en banc on April 25. The decision was issued on April 20.
