Marcos appoints 3 more officials

PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. has appointed three more officials of his administration, led by former legislative liaison officer Romulo Arugay as chairman of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO).

The other appointees were Joan Padilla as administrator of the Intramuros Administration (IA), an attached agency of the Department of Tourism, and Mario Molina as acting member of the Government Service Insurance System’s (GSIS) Board of Trustees, the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) announced though its Facebook page.

The announcement did not say when the appointments were made or if they had taken their oaths. No appointment papers were released.

Arugay, a former assistant secretary of the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO), will head the CFO, which is tasked to provide assistance to the President and Congress in the formulation of policies and measures concerning Filipinos overseas, including promoting migrant welfare and interests.

Padilla will head the IA which is vacant but currently headed by Director and officer-in-charge Edgardo Baysic. The IA is responsible for the orderly restoration, development and conservation of the historical and cultural value and significance of Intramuros while advancing and guiding its urban development.

Molina is a lawyer and former speaker of the GSIS’ Kapisanan ng mga Manggagawa (KMG) union.
