PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. has named the members of the Marawi Compensation Board (MCB), led by former Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner Moslemen Macarambon Sr., the Presidential Communications Office said yesterday.
The PCO said Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin administered the oath of office to Macarambon and seven other appointees — Sittie Aliyyah Lomondot Adiong, Romaisa Lomantong Mamutuk, Jamaica Lamping, Dimaporo Dalomabi Lao Bula, Mustapha Dimaampao, Nasser Macapado Tabao, Mabandes Sumndad Diron Jr.
The MCB oversees the implementation of the Marawi Siege Compensation Act or Republic Act 11696, along with the rehabilitation in war-torn Marawi.
Marawi was attacked by terrorist Maute group in May 2017 and the conflict lasted lasted until October 2017.
Then President Rodrigo Duterte had imposed martial law in Mindanao due to the incident.
