Mapa reappointed PSA chief; Quadra named John Hay CEO

PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. has reappointed National statistician Claire Dennis Mapa as head of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and lawyer-businessman Marlo Ignacio Quadra as president and chief executive officer of the John Hay Management Corporation.

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO), through its official Facebook account, announced the new appointments.

Quadra was a member of the board of the John Hay Management Corporation before his appointment while Mapa retained his position at the PSA.

Quadra earned his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Law degree from Saint Louis University in Baguio City.

He was a partner at the Quadra Pastor-Quadra Law Office and served as the corporate secretary of the Cordillera Golfers Foundation, Inc.

Mapa, before joining the PSA, served as dean and professor in statistics at the School of Statistics at the University of the Philippines and held several positions in various organizations and projects such as UP Statistical Center Research Foundation, Inc. (UPSCRFI), Governing Board of the Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI), Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. (PSAI), and the Gas Policy Development Project (GPDP).

Mapa earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics, Master’s degree in Economics, Master’s degree in Statistics, and Doctorate in Economics from UP Diliman.
