TWO weeks after Ash Wednesday, the Manila Cathedral is opening its doors to pilgrims for the Lenten Season.
In a social media post, the Manila Cathedral said there will be a Holy Mass today at 7:30 a.m., be celebrated by Fr. Kali Pietre M. Llamado, to mark the official start of the Lenten pilgrimage season.
After the Mass, Llamado will expose the Jubilee Cross where the relic of the True Cross of Our Lord is enshrined, and bring the Most Holy Sacrament to the adoration chapel as it reopens for the pilgrims.
“May your visit to the Cathedral be truly a spiritual experience to prepare ourselves for the worthy celebration of the Paschal Mystery of our Lord,” said the Manila Cathedral.
The Lenten Season is a period of prayer, sacrifice, and charity for Catholics. It began on February 22 with the observance of the Ash Wednesday.
