A MAGNITUDE 5.1 earthquake rocked Surigao del Norte early morning yesterday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said it is not expecting any damage from the quake which occurred at 2:27 a.m.
The quake was tectonic in origin. Its epicenter was some 10 km southeast east of Burgos town in Surigao del Norte. It had a depth of 28 km.
The quake was felt at Intensity 2 in Surigao City, the province’s capital. — Victor Reyes
