AN alleged leader of a robbery and gunrunning syndicate tagged as the top most wanted person in CALABARZON was killed while two alleged gang leaders were arrested after a firefight with the police in Daraga, Albay on Saturday night.
The PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group identified the slain suspect as Rodel Llorera, said to be the leader of the “Llorera Criminal Criminal Group” which is behind robbery and gunrunning cases in Tanay, Rizal; Sorsogon and Camarines Sur.
CIDG men augmented by policemen from other police units swooped down on Purok 4 in Sitio Banacian, Barangay San Ramon at around 9 p.m. to serve arrest warrants for direct assault with murder and direct assault with attempted murder.
Llorera, however, resisted arrest, leading to a firefight. He died after a brief exchange of gunfire while his men, Felimon Madridano, alias Jun, and Honeybee Boneo, alias Nick, were arrested.
Recovered at the scene were a cal. 45 pistol, a cal, 38 revolver and a hand grenade.
Madridano and Boneo are under the custody of the Daraga police station while investigations are ongoing into their affiliation with Llorera’s group.
Charges for possession of illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and explosives are being readied against the arrested suspects.
