THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is making a final call for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) with unpaid wages and benefits from their former employers in Saudi Arabia employers to register online.

The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in the Philippines has given the OFWs only until today to either register or update their personal information.

DMW, in a social media post, said personal information may be updated via http://ehqaq.sa/saudioger while questions and clarifications may be sent to Yousef-alswailem@saudiogerb.com or feedback@dmw.gov.ph.

To recall, thousands of displaced OFWs were left unpaid in 2015 and 2016 after several Saudi construction firms had declared bankruptcy.

Subsequently, the Philippine government repatriated the displaced OFWs while continuing negotiations for their unpaid claims with the Saudi government.

Last year, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman committed to shoulder the unpaid salaries of some 10,000 displaced OFWs, with details of the financial settlement to be subjected to talks between the two countries.

Earlier this month, the DMW asked the claimants to register their information with the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in the Philippines as part of the processing of their wage and benefit claims.
