LAS Piñas City Mayor Imelda T. Aguilar has committed to sustain the city’s road clearing operations in a bid to rid the Zapote-Alabang Road and secondary roads of any obstruction to ensure safety and ease traffic.
The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has given a high compliance rating to the city government of Las Piñas for its road clearing operations.
Mayor Aguilar and Vice Mayor April Aguilar called on members of Task Force (TF) Kaayusan, barangay officials, homeowners’ associations to sustain the gains of the clearing operations.
The mayor cited the improved flow of traffic along the Zapote-Alabang Road, the city’s main thoroughfare, following the removal of sidewalk vendors and the demolition of overlapping structures, including the unfinished excavations by various service utilities.
“These obstructions must be permanently out from our main thoroughfare and the inner roads since the sidewalks are for the pedestrians and the roads to motorists,” Mayor Aguilar said.
Even before the DILG directive on the clearing of road obstructions, Mayor Aguilar had already convened TF Kaayusan in July immediately after her re-election.
