Drama-mystery “Deception” reunites Claudine Barretto and Mark Anthony Fernandez, who made up one of the hottest reel and real pairs in the 1990s.

“Deception,” which will stream exclusively on Vivamax this January 28, is directed by Joel Lamangan.

Claudine and Mark starred in the hits “Pare Ko” and “Mangarap Ka” in 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the two — now more mature — exhibit the same chemistry in roles that hew closely to real life in “Deception.”

Claudine is Rose, a famous actress who is married to Jericho (Mark Anthony), a stunt double. As they start their own family, they are blessed with a son, Thomas. Their fairy-tale life is shattered when Rose is convicted for killing her husband and is sentenced to jail for ten years. With Rose in prison and Jericho’s death, their son is taken to an orphanage and learns to live without his parents.

As Rose’s time in prison ends, she tries to start her life anew. She begins rebuilding her life by first reconnecting with her estranged son, who is now a teenager. But her troubled past starts to catch up with her and reveals all the lies that go with it. She also soon finds out why her almost perfect life went crumbling down.

“Deception” is produced by Viva Films and Borracho Film Production and is available for streaming this January 28 on Vivamax Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Macao, Vietnam, Brunei, Maldives, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, Europe, Canada and the United States.
