Reports said the plane left Dipolog City at around 1:40 p.m. for a medical evacuation mission.

Witnesses saw the plane covered with think smoke as it was flying over Mt. Makiling before nosedived, exploded and caught fire.

Two people at the resort — John Rey Roca, 19; and his mother Malou, 40 — were injured.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines is still investigating the cause of the accident.
