Kidnapping, homicide raps filed vs 4 cops, 3 cohorts

THE PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has filed charges against four policemen and three cohorts for the kidnapping of a businessman and kidnap-slaying of a car sales agent in Quezon last December.

The cops were identified as Lt. Emerson Custodio, Chief Master Sergeant Lian Manalo, Staff Sergeant Carlito Jimeno and Corporal Alfie Reyes, all assigned with the PNP Highway Patrol Group in Laguna, and their cohorts as Ranilex Ramirez Mendoza, alias Abong Ramirez Mendoza; and William Bawalan Dagotdot Jr; and a Jane Doe.

In charges filed last Saturday before the Tayabas City prosecutors Office in Quezon, they were charged for kidnapping with homicide, kidnaping and serious illegal detention, carnapping, and obstruction of justice, and illegal possession of firearms.

“Kidnapping has been one of the major threats to public safety therefore the CIDG investigators will always pursue and resolve (this) through just service together with other concerned PNP units and the community,” said CIDG Director Maj. Gen. Eliseo Cruz.
