THE Kalipunan ng Maralita at Malayang Mamamayan Inc. (Kamalayan) party-list yesterday won the coveted No. 1 position in the raffle held by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to determine the order of appearance in the official ballots for the May 2022 polls.
Getting the second to fifth slots were the Kilos Mamamayan Ngayon Na (KM Ngayon Na), Philippine Society For Industrial Security (PSIS), Agricultural Sector Alliance of the Philippines (Agap), and Kabalikat ng Mamamayan (Kabayan).
Rounding out the top 10 were the Home Owners And Marginalized Empowerment Through Opportunities with Neighborhood Economic Reliability (Home Owner), Kabalikat Patungo sa Umuunlad na Sistematiko at Organisadong Pangkabuhayan Movement (Kapuso-PM), PDP Cares Foundation Inc. (PDP Cares), Noble Advancement of Marvelous People of the Philippines Inc. (Marvelous Tayo), and Advocates and Keepers Organization of OFWs, Inc. (Ako OFW).
In all, 166 party-list organizations participated in the raffle, 152 of them registered party-lists and 14 groups with pending applications for registration.
The Comelec is expected to release the final list of party-list groups within 15 days after the conduct of the raffle.
The raffle was held in a hybrid set-up, with members of the Comelec gathered at the Session Hall while party-list representatives were present virtually.
Under the rules, failure by the authorized representatives to comply with the requirements of giving their consent and acknowledgement to the order of their listing on the official ballot through a verbal manifestation followed by the accomplishment of an MS Forms shall be considered as a waiver.
“Consequently, their respective party-list groups, organizations, or coalitions shall be placed last in the list, in alphabetical order,” the Comelec said.
